La video installazione che fa parte della ricerca sul tema del Perdono, nasce dall’incontro tra Eleonora Rossi e una giovane ginnasta che desidera scrivere una lettera di scuse. L’artista, dopo un lungo tempo passato con la ragazza, realizza questa serie di immagini che sono la forma visiva di una richiesta di perdono che qui prende la forma di una performance artistica.
Margherita si ritrova nella sua quotidianità a contemplare l’alienazione di una compagna di scuola. Comprende la crudeltà del pregiudizio e si rende conto che lei non vuole far più parte di questo schema. Decide invece di saperne di più sulla compagna fatta oggetto di scherno e pregiudizi. Dopo aver accettato un invito della giovane a passare un pomeriggio insieme, prende tempo per stare da sola e riflettere su questa esperienza. Ne scaturisce una lettera. Nello spazio aperto di un grande magazzino colmo di carta, i suoi gesti risultano discreti ma potenti. Le sue azioni sono scandite in una dimensione estetizzante. La ginnastica è parte integrante e irrinunciabile della vita di Margherita, e attraverso questa, trova il coraggio e lo strumento per esprimere e condividere la sua sensibilità.
The video installation which is part of the research on the theme of Forgiveness, was born from the encounter between Eleonora Rossi and a young gymnast who wishes to write a letter of apology. After spending a long time with the girl, the artist creates this series of images which are the visual form of a request for forgiveness that takes the form of an artistic performance. Margherita finds herself in her daily life contemplating the alienation of a schoolmate. She understands the cruelty of prejudice and realizes that she no longer wants to be part of this pattern. Instead, she decides to find out more about her schoolmate who has been the object of ridicule and prejudice. After accepting an invitation from the girl to spend an afternoon together, she takes time to be alone and reflect on this experience. A letter ensues. In the open space of a department store full of paper, her gestures are discreet but powerful. Her actions are marked in an aesthetic dimension. Gymnastics is an integral and indispensable part of Margherita’s life, and through this, she finds the courage and the tool to express and share her sensitivity.
